Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Marry Abroad, Nottingham, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. What Marry Abroad is
Marry Abroad is a matrimony app that helps adults find a husband or wife from another country. It is for people who want to marry, not for casual relationships. We introduce members to each other; we do not arrange marriages, give immigration or legal advice, or guarantee that you will meet or marry anyone.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18, or at least 21 if you are a man living in India.
- You must be legally free to marry, or honest in your profile about your current status.
- You may only have one account, and it must be about you.
- You may not use the app if we have removed you before, or if you live in a country where the app is not available.
3. Your account
Everything in your profile and disclosures must be true and kept up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login secure. If you complete the optional ID check, your name, age and gender are locked to match your document.
4. Community rules
When you join, you promise to:
- use the app only to look for a spouse;
- treat every member with respect, with no racist, hateful, sexual or threatening abuse;
- not ask anyone for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency or fees, and not offer them;
- not pretend to be someone else, use someone else's photos, or lie in your disclosures;
- not use the app to advertise, recruit, sell services, or for any illegal purpose, including trafficking or forced marriage;
- not copy, scrape or misuse other members' information.
We may remove anything that breaks these rules and remove members permanently. If we remove you, the app tells you why and you can appeal once. Our decision on the appeal is final.
5. Proposals and messages
You can send a marriage proposal to a member with an optional note. A chat opens only after the proposal is accepted. Some countries' laws add extra steps; for example, US law (IMBRA) requires a background disclosure and a registry search before a US member and a member outside the US can message each other.
6. Staying safe
We check accounts, but we cannot check everyone completely and we are not responsible for how members behave. Do not share your phone number, address, workplace, bank or card details, ID documents or passwords until you know someone well, and never send money to someone you met online. Use Report and Block if anything worries you, and contact the police if you are in danger.
7. Prices and payments
- Creating an account, receiving proposals and replying are free.
- Some countries need a paid monthly unlock to search and match there, and sending proposals needs a monthly proposal plan. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and can depend on the country and on your profile.
- Payments are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play and follow their terms. You can cancel a subscription in your store account settings.
- Purchases give you access straight away. When you tap "Agree and buy", you ask for immediate access and accept that you lose your 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. This does not affect your rights if something you bought is faulty or not as described.
- Where local law gives you extra rights (for example, a cooling-off period with no payment in France), we follow it.
8. Your content
You own the photos, voice notes and text you add. You give us permission to store and show them in the app to run the service. This permission ends when you delete them or your account, except for copies we must keep for safety or by law (see the Privacy Policy).
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Privacy & data, or as explained on Delete your account. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the law.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide the app with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for members' behaviour, or for decisions you make about another member. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring a claim there. Please contact us first at support@marryabroad.app so we can try to sort things out.
